How to Play WordGlyph

Watch a video to learn how to play.

Find the hidden six letter word by selecting letter segments ("sticks") to build each letter of the word.

Goal: Find the word using the fewest sticks.

• Tap the small letter box to make it active. Use the large box to select a segment. On Desktop, tap directly on segments inside each letter box.
• To solve in the fewest sticks:
1. Don't complete the letters. Keep the sticks green. If the green sticks turn black then the letter is found. Avoid doing this.
2. Take advantage of the "Unused Stick Bonus" and discover letters through wrong stick guesses. This bonus makes wrong stick guesses free until they exceed unused sticks in the word. (But make a wrong word guess, then the unused stick bonus goes away.)
• Once you know a letter, tap it in the alphabet shown at the top of the screen to place it the word guess box. Or click on the word guess box and use the keyboard.
• Once you know the word, tap the word guess box, finish typing in the word and click the submit button.

This is low scoring because all the letters are completed so there are no unused sticks to erase the wrong stick guesses.

• You can guess the word at any time after you play 2 sticks. But if you're wrong, you'll lose 3 sticks and worse - you'll lose the unused stick bonus that erases an equal amount of wrong stick guesses.
• STICK SCORE - The amount of correct guesses plus your wrong guesses. Wrong stick guesses only count once they exceed unused sticks in the word.
• STICKS LEFT - total remaining sticks. (Each word starts with double the sticks needed.)
• STICKS UNUSED - how many sticks are left in the word that you have not found.
• STICKS WRONG - how many sticks have been incorrectly selected.
• Share Score: 🦉 14 ③②①①①①+① means this player got a Scholar rank with 14 sticks. The circled numbers indicate how sticks used in each letter position (after any unused stick bonus). The +1 indicates the player made one wrong guess during the game.
• For a greater challenge, disable the alphabet hints that display possible letters from selected segments. Scroll to the bottom of this page and toggle off Auto-Enable Hints.
• The word list consists of 6-letter English words with a few well-known technical words from science and technology. It features past tense forms but excludes plurals. List Editors: KG, LB & JN.
